Felix Wong Yat-Wah (Simplified Chinese: 黄日华, Traditional Chinese: 黃日華, Jyutping: Wong4 Yat9 Wa4, Pinyin: Huang2 Ri4 Hua2) (born September 4, 1961 in Hong Kong) is a popular TVB actor in Hong Kong.
Felix Wong graduated from TVB Artist Training Class, and proceeded to act for TVB, where he made his name known. Although he has appeared in over a dozen movies, he is mostly known for his work in various television series. During the 1980s, Felix Wong, along with Tony Leung Chiu-Wai, Andy Lau, Miu Kiu Wai and Kent Tong, made up the "Five Tiger Generals of TVB", who were the most popular male actors of TVB at the time. He is best known for his role as Guo Jing (Cantonese:Gwok Jing) in the 1983 television adaptation of Jin Yong's The Legend of the Condor Heroes (射鵰英雄傳).
On January 11, 2002, Felix Wong left TVB to film mainland serials because he was unhappy about how TVB was being run.

Felix Wong Not Interested In Filming Series Right Now
Although Felix Wong Yat Wah is not a Christian, he has agreed to appear in several promotional events for Lau Sin Yee's new charitable organization. Recently Felix has been busy promoting a cosmetics brand in China, singing at gatherings and meeting with fans.
Although Felix does not make a significant sum from these promotional events, it allows him to be a "singer" and hear the cheers of his audience. Each actual appearance only takes half an hour, but the travel time involved for each trip usually takes 3 days, allowing Felix to take adequate rest. Felix laughed, "I don't mind working like this at all! I can do dozens of these appearances in one year!"
Does Felix still want to return to acting in TV series? Felix admitted that he has not filmed a series in 3 years. Felix's series "Treasure Raiders," which was filmed in 2001 with TVB, still has not been broadcast yet.
Since Felix has been leading an idle lifestyle, he does not have intentions to film TV series right now. "Let's wait until Michael Miu Kiu Wai leaves TVB first! He is very sensitive! Michael waited until everyone left TVB before returning to film again, so that there would not be any competition left! When Michael retires again, then I can substitute for him!"
Felix revealed that since Michael returned back to acting, Michael's confidence has increased. Felix has slowed down his acting input since he finds the work too grueling. He never took a good rest before, so he would rather have more time to relax. However, when Felix sees Michael acting on TV again, the feeling is very warm and family-like.
Is Felix not interested in working because he has earned enough money? "Each person's requirement is different. For example, Andy Lau Tak Wah has made a lot of money already, but he continues to work because he enjoys it! I am different. My expectations are lower and easily satisfied."
Felix laughed and said that of course he has not earned enough money yet. _________________

Felix Wong's Former Idol Days
Monday January 29, 2007 Hong Kong

Korean and Taiwanese artists are currently hot in Hong Kong. Each time artists such as Rain arrive in Hong Kong, hundreds of fans clamor to the airport wishing to get a closer look at their idol. Fans even spend large sums of money to rent vans and hail taxis to follow their idols.
ranco
Looking back, there was also one artist who had legions of loyal fans, inciting such raucous behavior. Felix Wong Yat Wah became extremely popular in the 1980's after TVB aired "Gor Hak." The number of fan letters he received at the time exceeded even Liza Wang Ming Chuen and Angie Chiu Ngar Chi. Everyone who worked at TVB was aware of Felix's extreme popularity and large fan base. _________________

The article below was published in The Singapore Straits Times 11/5/07.
TVB's top actors of the 1980s will reunite in a triad film but Tony Leung has been left out.
Hong Kong: The Five Tigers will reunite for a movie, minus Tony Leung Chiu Wai.
Andy Lau, 45; Felix Wong, 45; Michael Miu Kiu Wai, 48; Ken Tong, 48; and Leung, 44, go way back to their days as TVB station's top actors in the 1980s.
Now Lau is planning a new triad film which he will star in, along with all his old buddies except Leung, reports Apple Daily.
Singer Eason Chan, 32, who is not one of the Tigers, will co-star in the HK $20 million (S$3.8m) movie that will be filmed in Bangkok and Hong Kong from the end of this month.
The report said Leung caused a rift in 1985 when he backed out of the Tigers' agreement to turn down TVB's offer of new five-year contracts.
While the others left the station, he became TVB's No. 1 leading man, at the cost of his friendship with them, the paper said.
He is alos a loner. Although he appeared to be forgiven when he was included in the group's 1991 reunion movie, 'The Tigers', he has seldom been known to socialise with the others.
Back in their TVB days, Lau and Leung were a popular pairing in the 1984 hit, 'The Duke of Mount Deer'.
But after both made the jump to the big screen, they hardly appeared in the same movie until Media Asia Boss Peter Lam got them to headline 2002 thriller, 'Infernal Affairs'.
Still, at Lau's 100th concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum in 2004, while Wong, Miu and Tong showed up with presents, Leung was nowhere to be seen.
Director Derek Chiu confirmed that Leung had not been considered for the new film.
"There're many reasons. Money is a problem. If you get Tony, you hae to spend more money," Chiu told Apple Daily.
Leung, one of Hong Kong's highest-paid actors, is getting a reported US $1.5 milliion (S $2.2m) to star in the historical epic, 'Red Cliff'. |

Andy Lau Doesn't Want Tony Leung in His Movie 'Brothers'
Thursday May 17, 2007 Hong Kong
The Five Tigers will reunite for a movie, minus Tony Leung Chiu Wai (Liang Chaowei). Andy Lau (Liu Dehua), 45, Felix Wong (Huang Rihua), 45, Miu Kiu Wai (Miao Qiaowei), 48, Ken Tong (Tang Zhenye), 48, and Leung, 44, go way back to their days as TVB stations top actors in the 1980s.
Now Lau is planning a new triad film 'Brothers' or 'Xiong Di' in which he will star, along with all his old buddies except Leung.
Singer Eason Chan (Chen Yixun), 32, who is not one of the Tigers, will co-star in the HK$20mil (RM10mil) movie that will be filmed in Bangkok and Hong Kong, starting the end of this month.
The report said Leung caused a rift in 1985 when he backed out of the Tigers agreement to turn down TVBs offer of new five-year contracts.
While the others left the station, he became TVBs No.1 leading man, at the cost of his friendship with them.

Leung, one of Hong Kongs highest-paid actors, is getting a reported US$1.5mil (RM5.17mil) to star in historical epic Battle of Red Cliff.

Tony not included in new film third brother denies grudge
Thursday, May 24, 2007 Hong Kong
Michael Miu was filming for the bowling contest for the "Community Chest Charity Show 2007".
It was reported earlier that Andy Lau was going to invest in a new film "Brothers", starring the "Five Tigers", except for Tony Leung who was rumoured to bear a grudge against the others. Third brother emphasises that there is no such thing, its just that they could not contact Tony and he is very welcome to join them at any time. Also Tony is a very busy person so there are little chances of meeting with him. Hes got his own lifestyle seldom coming out to socialise.
Asked whether he could contact Tony through Carina Lau, There is no need and people should not say that Tony holds a grudge against us. Its not for definite that the film will star the Five Tigers, it depends on the role of the characters. All five of us have to be interested for the Five Tigers to collaborate again. We have not met up for many years and I am only close to Felix and Andy. I understand that everybody is anticipating the Five Tigers to be together again, but we have to leave it to chance. Forcing something to work out will just cause unhappiness.

TVB producer reveal 5 Tigers dis-band inside news
Friday June 1, 2007 Hong Kong
Credits : AndyLauSounds
Recently Andy Lau invited three of the TVB Tigers Felix Wong, Ken Tong and Michael Miu to shoot a new film titled 'Xiong Di', Tony Leung is the only one TVB Tigers being left, it leads to allegations that Andy and Tony are not on good terms. One particular experience crew member from TVB revealed the inside news of dis-band of the 5 Tigers.
During that time, Andy is very particular of loyalty, he would not forget about his "brothers" when he's about to change company, Tony being the first one to distance himself from the group thus result to the dis-banding of the 5 Tigers. When interviewed , Andy exclaimed that it's a pity that he could not become a "family member" friend with Tony.
It was known that when the 5 Tigers prepared to jump into the movie industry, Andy expressed that he wanted to bring the other tigers along with him. One crew member from Cinema City revealed that during that time the two major movie companies in Hong Kong namely Cinema City and Golden Harvest wanted to sign up Andy and Tony but were not interested in the other 3 Tigers. Being loyal, Andy used his future as gamble as he stress that if anyone was to sign him up would have to sign the other tigers up as well, but his wish did not come true in the end.
Then, TVB knew that the 5 Tigers were going to leave the company together, thus the company decided to discuss with each of the tigers individually thus secretly dis-banding the 5 Tigers. One particular TVB producer revealed that Tony whose family depend on his pay and him being working rather in a low profile manner, the high ranked officials in TVB decided to start their work on him as they kept asking him to extend his TVB contract which includes an additional fees to be included in his pay as bait. In the end, Tony surrender to the attractive offer and extend his TVB contract.
After extending its contract with Tony, the 5 Tigers camp came down. However Andy refuse to extend his contract, thus he was being kept in cold storage by TVB for one year, the initial plan of releasing an album for him was shelved.
After Tony extending his TVB contract on his own, the other 3 Tigers have some hatred of Tony, but Andy never express his anger at Tony, all these years Andy had expressed that Tony's decision was correct as all of them did not know what's expecting them outside TVB, each has their own choice.

Andy's New Movie has Blood Splattered on the Street, Chatted With Brothers whole day
Tuesday September 25, 2007 Hong Kong
Source :: http://ent.sina.com.cn/m/c/2007-09-25/08331729295.shtml
Translation by AWCSG00155 from Andy Lau's Official Forum
Andy had always dreamt to shoot a movie with his good brothers, finally it materializes when Felix, Ken, Miu Kiu Wai, Lam Ka Tung, Eason Chan et al came to support, it was a dream comes true for Andy!
As all the leads are very busy, each with his own activity, it is difficult to find a time to gather them all, the movie co is having a headache to get them together for the publicity activities.
Recently, the leads were told to go to the studio to shoot promo posters. Finally it was 'I wait for you, you wait for me' situation, it took a whole day to get the job done.
While waiting they took the opportunity to 'boast' in catching up with one another, & turned to thank the co for giving them the opportunity instead.
In the promotional trailers, fresh blood on Andy is used as the selling point, lying by the road side he was bleeding
profusely, it is quite a horrible sight, the title reminds people not to trust fully those around them.
